Cellulite Reduction in Seongsu, Seoul

Body ONDA microwave and Body InMode RF, with honest expectations

Cellulite reduction at Seongsu Melting Clinic uses two body devices, Body ONDA and Body InMode, to improve the dimpled texture of the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. Dr. Park Kyung-min is upfront about what these treatments can and cannot do: they may make cellulite look smoother, but they do not make it disappear for good.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is not simply extra fat. It forms where fat under the skin pushes upward against the skin, while fibrous bands called septae pull the skin downward. The result is the familiar "orange-peel" or dimpled look. Hormones, genetics, skin thickness, and circulation all play a role, which is why many slim and active people still have cellulite.

Because it involves fat, connective tissue, and skin quality together, treating only one of these rarely gives a satisfying result.

How we approach cellulite at Seongsu Melting Clinic

We use two energy devices with different strengths:

  • Body ONDA: microwave energy (Coolwaves) delivered to the fat layer while the skin surface is cooled. It may reduce localized fat and support tightening in areas like the thighs and abdomen. Dr. Park is an ONDA key doctor.
  • Body InMode: radiofrequency body handpieces that heat tissue to encourage collagen remodeling and firmer skin, and to target fat in treated areas.

Dr. Park first examines the area: how thick the fat is, how loose the skin is, and whether the dimpling is mainly from fat pressure or from skin laxity. He may use one device or combine both, and in some cases add a MelFat injection for a stubborn fat pocket nearby.

A good fit if…

  • You have mild to moderate cellulite on the thighs, buttocks, or abdomen
  • You are at a fairly stable weight
  • You want smoother-looking skin, not a complete change
  • You are willing to commit to a series of sessions and maintenance

Consider something else if…

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have metal implants or an implanted device near the area (tell us first)
  • You have active skin infection, open wounds, or a history of blood clots in the legs
  • You expect cellulite to be removed entirely

Honest limits

Cellulite is influenced by factors that devices do not change, such as hormones and genetics. Energy treatments can improve texture and firmness for many people, but results vary, improvement is gradual, and cellulite can return over time as the body changes. Maintenance and healthy habits, such as regular movement and stable weight, help the result last.

What to expect

Your consultation is one-to-one with Dr. Park, who explains the plan beforehand and talks with you during treatment. You will feel warmth in the treated area. Mild redness and warmth afterward are common and usually fade within hours. Some people feel tenderness for a few days. Changes build gradually over weeks, and a series of sessions is typically recommended.

Aftercare

  • Drink plenty of water and stay active with light movement
  • Avoid saunas and very hot baths on the day of treatment
  • Wear comfortable clothing over the treated area
  • Keep your weight stable to help maintain results

A note from Dr. Park

Dr. Park often explains that research and daily practice should inform each other, and cellulite is a good example. Because obesity and body composition are his clinical focus, he talks with patients about what drives cellulite before choosing a device, so expectations stay realistic.

Frequently asked questions

Can cellulite be removed completely?

No treatment removes cellulite for good. Energy devices may make it look smoother and skin feel firmer. Results vary.

How many sessions are needed?

Most people need a series of sessions. The number depends on the area and severity.

Does weight loss get rid of cellulite?

Weight loss can help in some people, but cellulite also appears in lean bodies because of skin structure and fibrous bands.
