InMode lifting at Seongsu Melting Clinic combines two radiofrequency handpieces, Mini FX and Forma, to address facial contour and skin firmness in the same visit. Dr. Park Kyung-min decides how much of each to use after examining where your face carries fat and where it has lost support.
What is InMode Lifting?
InMode is a radiofrequency (RF) platform. RF energy creates controlled heat in tissue, and different handpieces are designed to heat different targets to different temperatures.
- Mini FX targets small pockets of fat, such as under the chin or along the jawline. It heats fat tissue to roughly 45–47°C, a range aimed at affecting fat cells so the body can gradually clear them.
- Forma works on the skin itself, keeping tissue at around 43°C. This gentler, sustained warmth is meant to encourage collagen remodeling and a firmer, smoother feel over time.
Put simply, Mini FX works on "too much" (fat), while Forma works on "too loose" (skin quality). Many faces have a bit of both.
How we approach InMode Lifting at Seongsu Melting Clinic
Dr. Park uses the face-specific handpieces for facial work and separate body handpieces for Body InMode, because the depth and area of treatment are different. On the face, he first palpates the ligaments and fat compartments. If the lower face is heavy, Mini FX may take priority. If the skin feels thin and lax but not full, Forma may be the main step, and Mini FX may be skipped entirely.
InMode is often combined with Shurink Universe HIFU. HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy at set depths, while RF heats tissue more broadly. For many patients, the two work at different layers and complement each other. Dr. Park only suggests a combination when he can explain what each part is doing.
A good fit if…
- You have a softening jawline or small fat pockets under the chin
- Your skin feels less firm than it used to and you want gradual tightening
- You prefer a treatment that usually does not require numbing cream

What to expect
Your consultation is one-to-one with Dr. Park, who explains the plan before treatment and talks you through each step. Because the heat builds gradually, most patients do not need numbing cream. You will feel warmth, and the device monitors temperature so the treatment stays in its intended range.
Afterward, mild redness and warmth are common and usually fade within hours. Some people feel slight tenderness or swelling under the chin for a few days after Mini FX. Most return to normal activities the same day.
Changes tend to develop over weeks as collagen remodels and fat is cleared. The number of sessions depends on your goals and tissue, and we discuss it openly at consultation.
Aftercare
- Keep the skin moisturized and avoid scrubs or strong acids for a few days
- Apply sunscreen every morning
- Avoid saunas, hot baths, and intense workouts for the rest of the day
- Contact us if swelling or tenderness seems to be increasing instead of settling

Dr. Park often explains that he chose to separate face and body handpieces, and to adjust Mini FX and Forma for each person, because faces are built differently. He would rather spend time at consultation feeling the structure of the face than apply the same routine to everyone.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need numbing cream for InMode?
Usually not. The heat rises gradually and most patients tolerate it well. If you are sensitive, let us know and we will discuss options.
Can InMode remove a double chin completely?
It can reduce small fat pockets for many patients, but results vary. If the fullness is mostly loose skin or a larger amount of fat, another approach may suit you better.
Why combine InMode with Shurink?
The two devices work at different depths with different energy types. For some faces, combining them addresses both contour and firmness in one plan.
