Melting Diet Program in Seongsu, Seoul

Four-step weight-loss care that also protects your face, led by Dr. Park

The Melting Diet Program at Seongsu Melting Clinic in Seongsu, Seoul is a four-step approach to weight loss that also looks after the face and body while the scale is changing. It draws on Dr. Park Kyung-min's background as a certified obesity specialist and his work leading a bariatric and metabolic surgery center.

What is the Melting Diet Program?

Most diet plans stop at the number on the scale. The Melting Diet Program adds a second question: how will your face and body look as you lose weight? Rapid weight loss can leave the face looking tired or older, sometimes called "diet face," and some areas of fat may refuse to budge even when you are doing everything right. The program is built to address both.

Fresh fat and stored fat

Not all fat leaves at the same pace. Newer ("fresh") fat tends to go first, often from the cheeks and chest. Older, stored fat tends to linger longer, commonly under the chin, in the upper arms and in the thighs. This is why many people find their face slims early, sometimes more than they would like, while the double chin or thighs stay stubborn. Understanding this timing helps plan when to use which treatment.

How we approach it at Seongsu Melting Clinic

Four steps

The program is organized in four steps. In broad terms, they bring together:

  • Medical assessment: a consultation with Dr. Park about your weight history, health, current medications and goals
  • Weight management: a plan that may include medically supervised support and, where suitable, a diet IV drip
  • Stubborn areas: MelFat injections and body devices such as Body InMode or Body ONDA for areas that lag behind
  • Diet face care: lifting and skin treatments to keep the face looking healthy as it changes

Sagging or hollowing?

Dr. Park looks at these separately. If the skin is sagging after weight loss, lifting treatments such as Diet Signature Lifting may help. If the face looks hollow because volume has gone, a skin booster or volume treatment such as Melting RejuGlow may be more appropriate. Many patients have some of both, in different areas.

GLP-1 medication users welcome

If you are already using a GLP-1 medication such as Wegovy or Mounjaro, whether prescribed here or elsewhere, you are welcome to join the program for skin and contour care alone. Dr. Park lectures on these medications, and the facial changes that come with faster weight loss are a common reason patients visit.

A good fit if…

  • You are starting or in the middle of a weight-loss journey
  • You are on a GLP-1 medication and noticing facial volume loss or looser skin
  • You have reached a plateau with a few stubborn areas
  • You want medical guidance, not just a device menu

Consider something else if…

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a medical condition that needs specialist management first; Dr. Park may refer you
  • You have a history of eating disorders, where a different kind of support is needed
  • You are hoping for results without any change in daily habits

What to expect

Your first visit is a detailed consultation. From there, visits are planned around your progress, and treatments are added as different areas change. Downtime depends on what is used: IV drips and most device sessions let you return to your day, while MelFat can bring a few days of swelling. Weight loss and skin changes take time, and results vary.

Aftercare

  • Follow the eating and activity guidance agreed at consultation
  • Stay well hydrated, particularly if you are using a GLP-1 medication
  • Protect your skin with daily sunscreen while it adjusts
  • Report side effects from any medication promptly
  • Keep follow-up visits so the plan can shift as your body changes

A note from Dr. Park

Dr. Park often reminds patients that losing weight and looking good while doing it are two related but different goals. His co-authored book, Doctor, I barely eat but I still gain weight, came from years of hearing patients blame themselves. In the clinic, he prefers to explain the body first, then plan the treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to take weight-loss medication?

No. Medication is one option among several and is only considered when suitable for you.

Why is my face losing weight faster than my thighs?

Newer fat in areas like the cheeks often goes first, while stored fat in the thighs, arms and under the chin can take longer.

What is the diet IV drip?

It is one of the clinic's Melting IV drips, offered as a supportive option within the program. It is not a substitute for diet and activity.
