Jaw Botox in Seongsu, Seoul

Jawline contouring and jaw tension care, planned from how your jaw actually moves

"Jaw Botox" is a broad term that people use for two related goals: a slimmer, cleaner jawline and relief of jaw tension. At Seongsu Melting Clinic in Seongsu, Seoul, Dr. Park Kyung-min helps you sort out which goal applies to you, because the plan differs.

There is a lot of overlap with masseter Botox. This page explains how they relate and when something else may help more.

What is jaw Botox?

Most jaw Botox is injected into the masseter, the main chewing muscle. When it relaxes and shrinks, the lower face can look narrower. For jawline contour, some patients also benefit from small doses in other areas, for example to soften a muscle that pulls the corners of the mouth or blurs the jaw edge.

For tension, the aim is different. People who clench during the day or at night may feel tight, tired jaw muscles or headaches around the temples. Relaxing the overactive muscle may ease that tension.

How we approach jaw Botox at Seongsu Melting Clinic

The consultation starts with a structural look at your lower face. Dr. Park palpates the muscles, checks the jawbone angle and looks at fat under the chin and along the jaw. This tells him whether muscle, bone, fat or skin laxity is behind the shape you see.

If muscle is the main factor, jaw Botox with genuine toxin at the exact dose may be recommended. If fullness under the jaw is the issue, MelFat or lifting may fit better. If you describe clenching, jaw clicking or pain when opening your mouth, he will talk through TMJ-related tension and may suggest seeing a dentist or oral specialist alongside any cosmetic treatment. Botox can relax muscle but does not treat the joint itself.

A good fit if…

  • You want a softer, slimmer lower-face contour
  • You clench or feel tightness in your jaw muscles
  • You want to understand whether muscle is really the cause
  • You are open to a combined plan if needed

Consider something else if…

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a neuromuscular disorder
  • Your main concern is sagging jowls (lifting may suit better)
  • You have significant jaw joint pain that has not been evaluated

What to expect

After examination and explanation, injections take a few minutes. You may feel small pinches and see tiny bumps that settle quickly. Contour changes develop over weeks; tension relief may come sooner.

Effects usually last about 3 to 6 months. Repeat timing is based on how your muscle responds. Pricing is explained at consultation.

Aftercare

  • Do not massage the injected area on treatment day
  • Avoid lying flat for a few hours
  • Skip hot environments, alcohol and heavy exercise that day
  • Note any change in chewing or smile and tell the clinic

A note from Dr. Park

Dr. Park's position is that the face's structure should be examined before a treatment is chosen. With the jaw, he often shows patients the difference between muscle bulk, bone width and soft-tissue fullness, because each calls for a different answer. He also keeps to genuine products at exact doses.

Frequently asked questions

Is jaw Botox the same as masseter Botox?

They overlap. Masseter Botox is the most common form of jaw Botox. Some jaw plans include other small injection points depending on your contour.

Can Botox fix TMJ problems?

It may ease muscle tension from clenching for some people, but it does not treat joint problems. Persistent pain or clicking should be evaluated by a dentist or specialist.

How long will the effect last?

Typically around 3 to 6 months, depending on dose and how strong your muscles are.
