What is microneedling?
Microneedling creates many tiny, controlled channels in the skin. The body treats these as small injuries and responds with a healing process that includes new collagen and elastin. Over the following weeks, this remodeling may soften shallow scars, refine the look of pores, and even out rough texture.
Classic microneedling uses needles alone. Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling adds a second step: once the fine needles reach a set depth, they deliver heat inside the skin. That heat tightens and stimulates tissue at the level where scars and laxity live, while the surface is left largely intact.
How we approach microneedling at Seongsu Melting Clinic
Our main option is Secret RF, a fractional RF microneedling system. The clinic uses disposable, sterile tips, so each patient receives a fresh tip. Needle depth and energy are adjusted by area. Thinner skin near the eyes is treated differently from the cheeks, where acne scars and pores often sit deeper.
The second option is MiraJet. Instead of needles, it uses a fine, high-speed jet to deliver its effect into the skin. The clinic uses its own "golden-ratio" MiraJet recipe for acne scars, enlarged pores and stretch marks. MiraJet can suit people who are nervous about needles or who want a gentler starting point.
Which one you get depends on your scar type, skin thickness, schedule and comfort level. Sometimes the answer is neither, and a peel, a skin booster or a laser is a better first step.

What to expect
Your visit starts with a consultation with Dr. Park, who examines your skin and explains the plan before anything begins. A numbing cream is usually applied before Secret RF. Most people describe a warm, prickling feeling, and the team talks you through each pass so nothing comes as a surprise.
Afterward, redness and mild swelling are common for a day or a few days, and tiny grid marks may be visible briefly. MiraJet usually has lighter recovery. Aftercare
- Keep the skin clean and avoid makeup for the period the clinic advises
- Use a gentle moisturizer and skip exfoliating acids and retinoids for several days
- Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and avoid heavy sun exposure
- Avoid saunas, hot baths and intense workouts for a short time
- Do not pick at any flaking skin
A note from Dr. Park
Dr. Park often tells patients that he would rather explain a treatment fully before starting and keep talking during it, because knowing what each sensation means makes the experience calmer. With microneedling he is also careful to look at the whole face, not only the scar, since texture, laxity and pigment often need different tools.

Does microneedling hurt?

Is MiraJet the same as microneedling?
